The Veil of Ignorance

She walks in the snow,
Through the trees,
She lifts her head,
To find the first dark clouds,
Rolling in,
She continues to walk,
To trudge through the damp soil,
She doesn’t think,
She forbids it,
And her head is one big empty void.

She sighs in elation,
She doesn’t have a single worry,
She’s grateful for her temporary serenity,
Her veil of ignorance comes creeping.

No one knows and no one cares,
She sees it all for herself,
She wills to be true to herself,
A promise remained unbroken.

She enfolds herself in a cup,
Her sanctuary of peace,
She is left alone in her forest,
An impossible dreamland.
